“The Oasis at Versailles” Becomes the Most Advanced In-Facility Respiratory Unit in Darke County

VERSAILLES, Ohio (Dec. 22, 2025) – Versailles Rehabilitation & Healthcare Center has opened a new advanced respiratory care unit, The Oasis at Versailles, upgrading its respiratory services to provide a wider variety of treatments and equipment to help people with breathing challenges.

Each season can bring new challenges – especially for older adults. As a healthcare facility specializing in skilled nursing, Versailles sees many patients needing breathing help during cold and dry winters – when the struggle to breathe can be more pronounced.

Even former facility residents may come back for breathing assistance. It’s a growing need, and Versailles has taken steps to meet the demand.

The Oasis, located at the skilled nursing facility, 200 Marker Rd. in Versailles, Ohio, now offers many respiratory services – from ventilators to oxygen – on a 24-hour basis, with all staff trained in the operation of breathing equipment.

“This is particularly valuable to people recovering from respiratory diseases and accidents,” said Jessica Mason, Versailles Rehab’s administrator. “Not only can the new unit handle high-flow oxygen needs up to 70 liters per minute, but it also has weaning capabilities, helping tracheostomy patients learn new breathing techniques so their tubes can be removed before going home.”

The Versailles Rehab respiratory team also views education as an important part of its services. To aid its therapy patients, the team provides patients with at-home instruction and guidance on maintaining their progress and continuing to use the new techniques they have learned.
